Choosing the fraction in the first act and further consequences.
Deciding on your ally in the first chapter is one of the most important choices that you will have to make. It will determine which quests you will have access to, and which will be locked for good. Your decision depends on selecting who you will assist during the conquest of the Apex: Disfavored, the Scarlet, the rebels or betray all of them.
- Choosing the fraction in the first act and further consequences.
- The Disfavored
- The Scarlet Chorus
- Rebels of Tiers
- Path of Chaos
The Disfavored
If you show support for the Disfavored and Graven Ashe, your quests will focus on fighting with the Scarlet Chorus and all the rebels across Tiers. Once you complete act I, you cannot change sides. All of them will treat you in a hostile way and you will have to fight your way out during all dialogue options.
The only way to change the storyline is to betray the Disfavored. However, if you decide to do that, you still won't be able to change sides and the Disfavored will become your enemies as well.
The Scarlet Chorus
If you show support for the Scarlet Chorus, your quests will focus on fighting with the Disfavored and all the rebels across Tiers. Once you complete act I, you cannot change sides. All of them will treat you in a hostile way and you will have to fight your way out during all dialogue options.
The only way to change the storyline is to betray the Scarlet Chorus. However, if you decide to do that, you still won't be able to change sides and the Scarlet Chorus will become your enemies as well.
Rebels of Tiers
During act I, you can try to support the rebels and improve your relationship. Furthermore, don't support any of Kyros' armies during the battle of the Apex. This way you will gain respect among the rebels and will be able to help them in other lands that you visit. Once you complete act I, you cannot change sides and show support for. Both armies will have a hostile approach towards you and you will have to use brutal force in the end.
The only way to change the storyline is to betray the rebels and you can do it for your own benefits. If you decide to do that, you still won't be able to join the Scarlet Chorus or the Disfavored and the rebels will consider you an enemy as well.
Remember: The described option still needs to be confirmed.
Path of Chaos
If you don't support any of the fractions during the first act or you decide to betray your allies later on, you will begin a path of Chaos. You will become an enemy to all the three parties and you won't be able to change your decision. Camps of Chorus, Disfavored and rebels will usually attack you right away and dialogue options will often end with combat. This option is recommended for those that enjoy a lot of fighting, because you will have to win many duels.
Remember: More details on specific decisions will be added soon.
Decisions and how they affect the ending
Supporting the fractions
- You betrayed everyone. - The Archons had an easy choice; join you or die. In the end, there is only one ruler - you.
- The Disfavored path - uniting the Tiers under the Disfavored banner was never your goal, but you managed to gather all of the Overlord's forces under one banner and restore order and peace in the Tiers at last.
The Disfavored Commander
- You killed the leader of the Disfavored. - The Disfavored walk away and feel shame due to fact that they were defeated. After Ashe's death speculations about his successor are the reason of disagreement among the Disfavored.
- You forced the Disfavored leader into obedience - it was a common belief that the Disfavored will never follow another general, but by dragging Graven Ashe to your side, you managed to achieve this by different means.
Chorus Commander
- You killed the leader of the Chorus. - The gangs scattered without a strong leader. Looking for their own place during the peace, they began to raid small villages. Many people celebrate the death of Voices of Nerat but you begin to ask yourself if he is really dead.
Armies
- You defeated both armies. - Once Kyros troops were defeated, smaller groups began to fight with one another to gain control.
Edict of Stone
- You ended the Edict of Stone. - The plants begin to grow again which brings hope for a better future. Beastmen who lived across Azure will be eventually banned.
- Ritual of Fallowing - when the Edict of Stone had ended, the earth stopped shaking. However, the ritual that was necessary to end the Edict rendered the local land barren and unable to produce crops anymore. Most people agree that the world is a better place without the Archon of Stone. The death of the Stonestalkers is a powerful blow to the Beastmen culture.
The Earthshakers
- Destroying Cairn - The Essence of Cairn was preserved, while the lands of Azure were permanently destroyed. The Earthshakers returned to the Disfavored ranks.
Sentinel Stand
- You took over Sentinel Stand for yourself - you will be thought of as a liberator of the most important keep in the land. However, people will dislike the fact that it belongs to you.
- You gave Sentinel Stand to your faction - after the complete destruction of the Unbroken, the inhabitants of former Stalwart are faced with an advent of lawlessness. The Overlord's forces stationed in Sentinel Stand can thwart any opposition but the new authority is still being resisted.
Daughter of the Sentinel Stand's keeper
- You didn't kill Amelia's daughter. - You were able to end the Edict without having to sacrifice the baby. Amelia and her daughter walk away.
- You killed Ashe's daughter and her child - the remainder of Ashe's family dies by your hand. The long and glorious history of this family is over. Although you often wonder if the massacre could have been avoided, you never think about it too long.
The Silent Archive
- You took the Silent Archive. - You were able to pass by members of the Scarlet Chorus and obtain the artifact. You ended the Edict but the entire source of knowledge was entombed under a pile of rocks.
Lethian's Crossing
- You didn't help the Crossing - the small garrison of the Overlord's forces was defeated by the Bronze Brotherhood. The Crossing fell into ruins and slowly transform into a settlement of mercenaries and bandits.
Megabane Helm
- You didn't return the Helm. - By doing that, the villagers were unable to defend themselves against the Banes. The creatures killed almost the entire village.
Forge-Bound Leader
- You didn't kill Zdenya - After Ashe's death, the Forge-Bound scattered due to the fact they no longer had a main employer. Now they work only for the richest customers.
The fate of Graven Ashe
- You persuaded him to obedience - the Archon considers you his sovereign. Although he initially disobeys orders, he comes to trust you with time and carries out commands without question.
Fate of Voices of Nerat
- You killed Voices of Nerat - the death of the Archon of Secrets initiates a wave of exuberant revenge throughout the entire continent. Although you witnessed his demise, you still wonder if he was truly defeated.
Tunon's fate
- You convinced Tunon to join you. - Archon continues to sentence people in his court. He is willing to respect and establish laws that ought to be respected.
Bleden Mark's fate
- You convinced Blenden Mark to join you. - Archon remained the main executor and you are eager to use his skills.
- You killed Bleden Mark - the death of the Archon deprived the world of its most talented leader. You often catch yourself staring into dark corners, having a feeling of being watched.
Barik's fate.
- After Ashe's death, Barik was never the same. He leaves you and ends up giving himself to the rust which eventually ends his life.
- Barik is not satisfied with the victory and comes back to the line to raise an army for you. He remains encased in his iron armor but walks significantly more lightly than before.
Verse's fate.
- Verse follows ways of Nerat and creates her own army of women. You sometimes use them for your own means.
Lantry's fate
- You sent Lantry to see Voices of Nerat. - Despite the fact that you were certain that he was killed, rumor has it that a lonely sage keeps travelling across the wasteland.
- Lantry joined you - he stays at your side at all times, recording your deeds and achievements. Together, you discover many secrets of the world, and the Sage keeps following you, paying no attention to his age.
Eb's fate
- Eb establishes her own School of Tides. Although she doesn't have many followers, she believes in a better future.
Kills-in-Shadows's fate
- The beast leaves you and leads her own pack that kills and travels across the country. You are alerted about this several times but you make sure not to capture the tribe.
Sirin's fate
- Sirin travels across the land destroyed by war and uses her songs to bring joy and hope to the frightened and hopeless. This brings her new followers.
- Sirin didn't help you with her voice. She disappeared from the Tiers before you ended your conquest. From time to time, you hear of a woman with a magical voice and wonder what wonders you would be able to accomplish if you had her on your side.
